How to take care of your engagement rings

The most damage we do to our jewelry is while we go about our daily chores. Here’s how you can take care of your rings and other daily wear jewelry.

Prevent grease and dirt from accumulating:

Take off your ring before you work with greasy or dirty substances to ensure that it stays looking clean for longer. Substances likely to accumulate on and around your diamond ring setting include shampoo, sunscreen, makeup, flour, dust, soap residue and hairspray.

Quick cleaning:

Soak the ring in a bowl that of four parts warm water and one part household ammonia for ten minutes. Brush the ring gently with a soft brush, dip it back into the solution, rinse and leave it to drain.Do not use any harsh chemical for cleaning.

Protect from Chipping:

A diamond is one of hardest natural materials, but it can still chip. Be sure not to knock it against other hard materials to prevent chipping or the loosening of its setting.
