Indian gooseberry or Amla is great for treating anti-ageing mechanisms as they are rich in antioxidants preventing the hairs to get premature greying. Amla helps in combating excessive hair loss and stimulates the hair growth. It can simply be used for washing your hair with freshly prepared amla juice.
You can soak some dried gooseberry pieces in water for overnight. Use this water as a hair-rinser the next day. This water acts as a conditioner by nourishing the hairs.
A paste made up with amla powder and olive oil cleanses your scalp naturally.
There are different ways in which you can use gooseberries to promote hair growth. You can simply grind a handful of fresh and deseeded amla fruits in a grinder, and squeeze out the juice. Add three tablespoons of lemon juice to this sap. Apply this mix on hair and scalp and leave it for at least half an hour.
Wash off with plain water. Another method is by using dried gooseberry fruits. Take 3 tablespoons of dried gooseberries. Heat two cups of coconut oil in a pan. Add dried gooseberries into the oil and boil. Allow it to settle down and strain out the oil. Use this amla-infused oil to massage your scalp daily.
Gooseberry also treats hair fall problems. Take 1 tablespoon each of bhringraj, fenugreek, triphala, brahmi, amla, reetha and shikakai powder in a bowl. Mix with either with half a cup of curd (if you have dry hair) or 2 eggs (for oily hairs) and apply from the roots to the ends. Leave it for 40 minutes then wash it away with a mild herbal shampoo. This hair mask helps in reducing dandruff, hair fall and strengthens the hair.
